Stoyanov Mittov Tanev's professional partnership was established in 1995 as a business law practice with emphasis on corporate and commercial law. Since 1996 the firm has expanded its advisory work to include foreign investment regime and privatization procedures.

Special areas of practice include non-profit organizations, regulatory framework of pharmaceutical industry, public procurement, environmental law, and securities. Since 1999 lawyers of the firm proved successful in local and international taxation, export, import and customs law and transport law.

The firm has a formal affiliation with DAGA Publishing Ltd., specialized in legal, tax and accounting literature, guides and updates, in both English and Bulgarian languages. Members of the firm provided legal commentaries to DAGA's 3-volume Business Guide and the 1999 manuals on the application of the tax laws for the Tax Administration Offices in Bulgaria.
